    There were veterans from World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Cold War, Iraq, Afghanistan and there were a handful of us who were in no conflicts at all. Local students wrote stories and read them aloud about what Veterans Day means to them. (Cedar Park Hill Country News Weekender, TX)

    Arnold worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture until being inducted into the armed services during World War II. Jean and Warren moved to Chicago to be near Arnold, where he was stationed.
